Good information. You might also want to add the fact that the whole weight loss and B12 shots belief came when obese people saw vegetarians and vegans using b12 injections. The 'problem' is that vegans and vegetarians are statistically much more physically-aware and more fit, so that people mix correlation with causation here and think its actually the b12 injections that made them that fit. Humans are a funny creature.

Someone told me that b-12 shot will boost your appetite? Can anyone verify this? My mother needs to boost her energy as well as improve her appetite.

I'm wondering if some of the people who have had negative effects were actually getting B-Complex shots and not simply the B12. B-Complex isn't hard to recognize though. The shots are extremely painful whereas the more watery red B12 almost has no sting at all. Also there can be side effects of B-Complex like facial flushing, tremulous feelings and nausea, plus a hot sore feeling at injection site. Always make sure it's just B12. I got my first one of B12 due to extreme fatigue, forgetfulness and anxiety and I'm so impressed at how well I already feel after one. I was seriously depressed from the fatigue and hope it eventually helps with weight loss also. But do make sure you're not getting B-Complex which usually is an orangey-red color.

I barely felt the shot itself! It did leave me sore for a bit afterward....... but at someone who can't stand ANY pain - it was tolerable! I will be getting a B12 shot every month from now on! I totally recommend it!

I have a severe B12 defencincy. In fact i have pernicious anemia, i take a b12 shot 4 to 6 times a month and have had to do that for two years to maintain the minimum levels required to be ok. Id like to make a suggestion to you if thats ok lol. Change places on your body that you give your shots, i give mine in my stomache, and you probably wont feel a thing. You can take the shot almost anywhere on your body, just avoid veins. I also like to make sure its room temp. Good luck!

I agree with you. I went to the doctor today and had blood drawn out of a vein on the side of my wrist (for blood testing which was surprising painful) and after that, didn't think I'd feel the B12 shot. I certainly did! The needle was fine, but when the nurse started the injection I could definitely feel some discomfort. Mine didn't leave me sore afterward. And please note whoever reads this, that I am not afraid of needles or mind getting shots/blood drawn.

I am waiting for my energy to increase overall so I can be productive/focus and not feel so tired all the time. I actually felt incredibly tired after the blood drawing and shot and had to take a 3 hour nap post doctor visit.

They are not meant to give EXTRA energy. Some people need these shots to function normally. Without it we suffer from memory loss, inability to concentrate, shortness of breath and rapid heart rate. B12 is not some cheat to become more energetic; it's a necessity for people that can't absorb it from food because we lack intrinsic factor.
